Arm the Next Generation... with ENVIRONMENTAL & MORAL Education

Updated: Nov 7, 2021

In all probability, the next generation would not be inheriting planet paradise from us; rather likely an Earth riddled with myriad problems - which we ourselves are struggling to address

While Climate Change being one of the most pressing issues threatening life on our planet, Governments & Schools are not communicating the effective ways for individuals to lead a greener and more sustainable lives.

Only when empowered with right knowledge, responsible choices & decisions could be made to address the overwhelming issues plaguing our Planet

Environmental problems & conservation should be taught in schools; importance of forests, climate change & impact of choices & difference we could make, discouraging littering & wasting energy could make Earth a better place

Environmental Education:

  • Instills Respect for Nature

  • Molds Good Stewards for the Environment

  • Teaches Responsibility

  • Creates Awareness about Environmental Challenges

  • Breaks the Habit of Staying Indoors

  • Promotes Health

Theoretical knowledge alone wouldn't suffice. Practical knowledge is more important

With so much to do, Environmental Education is far from being mundane

  • Get outdoors & engage with Nature

  • Visit farms & garden centers

  • Go for a hike or walk in nearby parks; or plan activities in playground

  • Have Recycling Bins in Classroom

  • Discuss about environmental problems; watch documentaries

  • Even a few Captain Planet Episodes wouldn't hurt ;-)

Acknowledging the importance of Children’s contact with Nature, Forest Schools have taken Environmental Education to the next level, setting the bar high; also, children do get better grades learning outdoors

Moral values such as Integrity, Tolerance, Mutual Respect, Compassion, Generosity, Honesty, Politeness, Self Control to name a few are invaluable in our today's disharmonious world

To Educate a Man in MIND & Not in MORALS is to educate a MENACE to Society ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Moral Education is crucial since knowledge without integrity can be dangerous

As one of the richest man in the world himself has said,

In looking for people to hire, you Look for 3 Qualities: Integrity, Intelligence & Energy. and if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you ~ Warren Buffet

TV in general is getting worse, with media presenting the world view and parents struggling to teach values while juvenile crimes and suicide rates are increasing, there is indeed a moral crisis.

Children by nature are pure and sincere; inculcating moral values at an early and receptive age will be beneficial. Spending focused time together with kids and having meaningful conversations, teaching core, universal positive values can help them have a balanced world view
